Dear Mr. Long:

I am writing to express our gratitude for your recent
contribution in the amount of $18,000, which was for-
warded to us by David Koch.

We are at a crucial point in the 1980 campaigns from

a financial standpoint. we must lay out substantial

sums to complete our drives to obtain ballot status

for David and Ed Clark and hundreds of other Libertarian
candidates. At the same time the Clark campaign is
reserving time slots on network prime time television
for five-minute spots, the first of which will be at
10:55 pm on July 8, on your local CBS affiliate.

All of this activity, much of it ?capital investments"
in the later stages of the campaigns in 1980, places

a severe strain on our cash flow. Consequently, your
contribution could not have come at a better time,

and we thank you for it.
