. . 1 INTRODUCED BY: Mark Mintz AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2006-107, WHICH AUTHORIZED THE MAYOR, COUNCIL OR THEIR DESIGNERS TO ATTEND FUNCTIONS, AND TO ALSO SPONSORSHIP FOR SUCH EVENTS - I WHEREAS, the Mayor, Council or-their designees are invited to attend civic and cornmunity functions involving businesses and organizations located in the region; and - WHEREAS, the City is also fiequently asked to purchase sponsorships for such events; and I WHEREAS, Council has determined that City participation in certain such functions is an important part of the City's economic development efforts; and WHEREAS, Council has determined that in order to promote the City and economic development, the Mayor, Council or their designees may. attend-civic/community functions, including I functions involving contributions to not-for-profit, charitable events and may also sponsor certain such events, in a total amount for attendance at such fimctions and for such sponsorships, not to exceed. Thirty Thousand Dollars and_No/Cents per year; and WIEREAS, Councilhas further' deterrninedpthat expenses for any individual civic! community fimction, will require advance approval by Councillif such event involvesnrore than Five Hundred Dollars and No! Cents ($500.00) per individual attendee or if such sponsorship is more than Two Thousand" Five Hundred Dollars' and No/Cents -- NOW, THEREFORE, EB IT ORDAINED, by the Council of the City of Beachwood, County of'Cuy;a'hoga, and 'State o'f'Ohio'that: Section 1. Council hereby approves the "attendance by the Mayor, Council or their designed at clvidcommunity functions, including functions involving contributions to charitable' I events, and an individual attendee in an amount not to exceed and for sponsorsliips at such events not to exceed Two Thousand Five Hundred Dollars provided, however, that -the' total -amount' -for-such attendance -and -sponsorships shall not exceed Thirty Thousand Dollars and No!Ce-nts per year, andprovided further that said restrictions shall not apply to attendance 'by City representatives at filuctions .for_ organizations of which the City is a member, such as the Beachvveed Chamber 'of Corr-nnerce'and Cuyahoga County Mayors, and Managers Association. .
